andrea!...this was fun! :) i really like "ink on my fingers" too!...have you read Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat, Pray, Love? She talks about 'ham-sa" very beautifully in that book...it is like a mantra " I am",, " I am one" ( with the universe so to speak) it is one of those words in a foreign language, that sometimes doesnt have a perfect correlation to English ( and vice versa)...
hamsa is strong and connected, I do know that...it is the hand of god, creator, allah, fatima, and more...perhaps your dream was about claiming yourself....? I would interpret such a dream in a good way....
