What's in a Name?

I've had this blog for almost a year and just added the "follower" gadget to the sidebar. I was uncomfortable with the word follower. I wonder how many opportunities I pass on because of silly issues I have with such things? Like avoiding getting to know a person who has the same name as a childhood bully or such...er, sorry to any Kimberly's out there...
I've called it "Habitué...perhaps a Fellow" just to make me feel okay about it.

Do you do anything like this? I figure it can't just be me!

To anyone following the French ~Word a Day~...Weekends are off limits to such posts! But Mimi Charmante may be...
xoxo

I do have hangups with certain words or names. Like the name Michelle has really bad vibes for me due to my ex. It's such a pretty name but it only makes me cringe when I hear it. Sorry, any Michelles out there ;)

Letting go of old feelings is harder than getting rid of old things :)

I have the same. Some names just have a certain sound or echo about them, they wake sleeping memories.
I have a certain similar thing about accents too...!

I guess - that's just how things work. My boyfriend has two first names .. He himself calles him by just one of them .. Me - I use both .. that's because the first name - is the name of the boy in class - always swetty in his palms - and I was his dancepartner .. ugh .. (I understand it was a huge problem for him - but as a kid you don't think like that .. )
I really don't want to compare those two :o)
