Do you remember your nighttime dreams?

* * * ** * ** ** *
How about those from your day?
The ones for your future?----->
Are your dreams in colour?

How important are dreams to creating a life worth living?
Have your dreams brought you
someone, somewhere, something?

I was in an Entrepreneurial workshop yesterday and the question was asked "What gets an entrepreneur through the rough times?"...
I said (for me it's) a strong vision of what I wish for my future. A vivid dream of a life of happiness and creativity, based on choosing/creating work that matches my values, my ethical system. Work that adds value without (I hope) using anyone, anything...
I've worked for other people, my creativity has already made them enough money...
The standards held by these companies was something that bothered me daily. The destruction of usable goods...Things returned for scratches or other minor problems were thrown into the garbage. Not donated, as I suggested, or given to a staff member or customer at a reduced price. The amount of food
thrown in the garbage at the restaurants I've waitressed in is shameful ...Not composted (for the non-edible) or given to the multiple food banks in the area, or even the gentleman begging outside the door...I realize that doing these things could open up a can of worms that most places do not want to deal with...But there has to be a better way. A way for everyone to benefit.
I dream of that time...
I believe that Entrepreneurs, dare I say...Women Entrepreneurs have the
dreams that the future will be built on.

Think about your dreams...
and perhaps share one or two...

Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming,
we lose the excitement of possibilities.
Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.
- Gloria Steinem

Have a wonderful weekend my friends.
I hope you find inspiration, laughter, comfort...
and sweet dreams.

ps. Entrepreneur comes from the French word "entrprendre" which means to under take...

You have said it so accurately and beautifully...irresponsible living robs some people from fulfilling their dreams while others get to fulfill theirs...I too have a vision of a world that expects justice and prosperity for all...and so very true that without a vision one can get sucked right into what the world, the current materialistic world, considers happiness and success to be....again, love your quote and love you even more!

crazy - we were both attending entrepreneurial workshops yesterday! my head is all like whoa, man, LOL!

my dream has always been about finding my direction and making a positive impact on the world, no matter how small or insignificant it might seem in the grand scope of things. for a long time i have struggled with my direction and identity - because for me, since i was born, the two are intertwined so tightly that i can't separate them.

i have tried. to tell myself that working some job i hate doesn't mean i AM that thing... but it always came back to having to be doing the thing that i am, and being the thing that i do, one hundred percent of the time, fully completely.

i have stopped trying to fight it, and now finally i feel these two things aligning, and it is both terrifying and exhilirating.

the two words "know thyself" pretty much sum up my dreams and how they will translate into my reality.

what a lovely, meaningful post.

i, like all of us, have many dreams. one thing i truly believe is this - dreams can and do come true. if you make them a goal or a plan that is kept at the forefront of your priorities, and you work hard for it, it can become your reality. you may have to try many different approaches to achieve the dream, but don't ever give up trying.

also, i believe that giving your all no matter what the task or job, is a sign of excellent character.

Really Andrea - we are definitely in the same place at the same time. But, keeping my comments respectful of course, I don't care if someone thinks I'm the 'bad girl' anymore. It's time to start making waves. If only by changing our own actions and not acquiescing quietly when someone justifies wastage (I too was a waitress) etc.. Well said dearie and hear! hear!

That's a beautiful way to look at getting through tough times: me, I panic ;) And fret and ask my husband if it's going to be ok - but in moments of great clarity I remember that the world needs beauty and it's our job to help facilitate: then the hard times take on the feeling of a small break, a breather.

The issues you are writing about here - are so important for the hole world. We need to start working together .. not as many countries but as one world. There are enough food and other stuff for everybody in the world - if we're all willing to share. But unfortunately there's lots of those that don't want this. It's all about money and power. And we're partly to blame because we let them continue to do so.

But my dream?? I guess there's small family issues that's mostly important to be solved as of today .. Next year?? Maybe more stability in my life?

Hugs!!
