Pictures of my garden from last summer...
Turquoise has always been my favourite accent colour but last year I decided to use it everywhere because it makes me feel really good.

Texture Study

Pantone declares that Turquoise is the colour of 2010! And many of the reasons they site are the very same reason I love turquoise so much.

"It is believed to be a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that Turquoise represents an escape to many – taking them to a tropical paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy." - Pantone

Being a strict second-hand shopper the trends of the season play a very small role in the choices I make. However, I am interested in them because of the creative (and financial) side of my life.
I love the turquoise(s) and gray(s) seen in the trends. I do not like the mauve and purple-ish colours.

Do the trends, both colour and fashion, affect your style or choices?

I really like your turquoise door, and the color in general. It seems to exude a lot of energy.
The short answer dear A is NO, trends, color or fashion, do not affect me a lot and I wish it would not affect others as well because some individuals should really not try certain styles. Hee hee!

I love the little peek into your garden. That door is SO gorgeous. I also decided to use turquoise in my house last year, as I painted my kitchen this color. It is so invigorating and cheery! Sometimes blue on the walls seems cold, but this shade makes me think of soaking up the sun on the beach.

dude, this post rocks! i love looking at palettes. i used to be a regular on www.colourlovers.com but it has been awhile since i've ogled palettes and created my own on there. i may just have to get back into it.

i went and edited the palettes you posted to take out the colours that don't do it for me to customize my own spring colour palettes! will upload them to my blog soon :)

and yes, of course you love turquoise, because you rock.

Spring is in the air! I {heart} your turquoise door! My landlord told me I could paint any color I want inside & I'm trying to pick a shade of that color for one of my dining room walls.

I have finally come across this post. I've been meaning to look for it since last Tuesday...I'm in love with your door. It reminds me of an entry into a magical place...

The first time I read the characteristics of turquoise, I remember thinking, "of course, that makes perfect sense. I understand why I'm so drawn to it..."

Beautiful post, friend...xo
