I was once a figure skater and I miss it. These young ladies were far more advanced than I was...Watching made me nostalgic. A little sad. I have quite a few shots but picked out these for the movement and the show of skill. Bravo Ladies! You were wonderful! :)

Used to be a figure skater...I loved learning that little tidbit about you. That seemed like the most graceful, magical and out-of-reach thing when I was younger (growing up in South Carolina). How lucky you were :)

When I was young girl child I had long detailed dreams of myself figure skating would awake so sad that I could never be that graceful & weightless when I went ice skating ;)

i LOVE the shot of the girl doing the leg-hugging move!

when i was little i wanted to be a figure skater, but i was never very good at ice skating. i do have skates and go every now and then. it's actually kind of fun falling on my ass while all the little kids skate circles around me :)

Have enjoyed browsing your blog and I can't believe you cancelled your cell phone. For now, I just keep mine on super silent, do that long enough and people stop calling you....it's nice.

they do look gracious, strong and fragile, all at once. figure skating is quite fascinating for it's contrats.

I never learned to skate well - I grew up in Africa - that is my excuse.....I hold my own but rather tentatively...ahhh...the slender figure and agility of a skating athlete - something to behold! ox
