Here I am sitting at a re-vamped desk from my teenage years (because my beloved mid-century wouldn't fit into the new designated "business space" of my livingroom). Bought from a Hotel sell-off many moons ago, it has been wood tone, shellac black, melamine beige, and is now flaking with a vintage wallpapered top...
I am typing on the tiniest aluminum keyboard. Yep, I opened the box (have you opened your's yet Kerin? :)) last night after the broken pipes were "definitely" repaired.
So my first impression of this iMac?
White keys? Hmmm. Hand wipes next to the computer. No renovating then running over to change a song without clean fingers.
A pretty snazzy welcome bit at the first power up. The computer even spoke to me! So friendly.
This screen is HUGE!
The delete button on an Apple is a backspace button on a Microsoft computer.
My keyboard takes batteries. Hmmm. Not too sure about that...
The "ctrl" commands I worked so hard to learn last year are irrelevant to this iMac, she completely ignores my requests. I need to COMMAND her. Though some things are the same, "cut-copy-paste" all work with the command button. Command+"z" is "undo", something I use often. ;)
I have no idea how to make Safari work for me yet. So posts are late...I need to learn how to switch between screens, get to my homepage, generally familiarize myself with the new browser.
I "love" her though...
I think I'll name her Eve.
Not very original I know but she is my first and you know that whole Apple thing...
