Good Morning Monday!

By Cover of Rain and Night I Plucked this from a Neighbours bowing Cherry Tree
Starting today there will be a lot of work happening...

I've been so dull and lifeless since May that I figure it's time to bust out of this trap.

I've got a commission for a painting! A family friend has a painting I did about 6 years ago and a friend of hers has been trying to buy it from her for years...I finally met him at my mother's and he asked me to do a similar piece for him...The great news is that I will be able to buy some silversmithing supplies with the money I make. I am burning to create but the cost of the metals is prohibitive {to say the least}...I have pages and pages of designs, influenced at times by those talented, skilled girls linked in my side bar and some things that are ~undone~ as far as my research shows...

The struggle to be original is not to be minimized...With the internet and all the work being shown it can be hard to stay true to what you truly love, to be authentic. I sat down a couple of nights ago and wrote out of a list of what was truly "ME"...Those things I loved before someone (everyone) told me to love crochet dollies (which btw I always have especially, in the beginning, on my Barbies as skirts...) /animals silhouettes (again always loved because they were so easy to draw as a kid) / "perverse" art (which I do not like and never will. So if you see me putting deer heads on naked human bodies or anything like it you will know I've sold my soul or preferences at the least)...I love whimsy and light, nature and creation, beauty and truth, rough and refined but not ugly or gross...I do think there is space for all art and I value all art {especially the creative work gone into it} but somethings will never make me feel good, which is what I want from those pieces I buy or create.

I've also been gaining weight {about 10lbs if you're interested! :)} over the last few months...Well no more. I've been walking, eating well and consequently have lost a bit this week and will continue to get healthier as we head into my favourite ~feel good~ season. This is not something I will be including in my blog very often as I strongly feel that my weight has no relevance to this space. I do want to share what I feel will be the fringe benefits of getting healthier...Like being more energetic and happy and creative and confident...

I will also be finishing some renovation work and sharing some of those *happy* photos with you...

I think I should include my Esty shop which has been a "Seller's" for over a year. I've never had an item on the shelves...I have an entire room full of vintage items, artwork and some pieces of assembled jewellry I make (made). So what is the hold up? I can honestly say that the years of renovating have left me with very small physical areas of comfort...I have an idea of how I wish to operate my shop, the look in the photos, the packaging, etc. but to execute it in this chaos would be impossible. And anything less than my vision is not going to happen...So with the end of renovating will come the true start of many, many things...

Anyone know a carpenter who will work for vegetarian lunches? ;)

Today I will be proactive in approach and productive in action. Make sense?

Much Love and Luck for the coming week...

So happy to hear you full of courage and optimistic! You're a beautiful person, Andrea, and I wish you only the best on your way and success with everything you attempt to do.
"have hope. be strong. laugh loud. play hard. live in the moment. smile often. dream big. remember you're loved, and never never give up."
Best wishes.

Congratulations on the commission! You sound like you are doing well and working through quite a few things in your life. I smiled at the comment about weight. I feel the same way. I tend to mention it only when it changes the way I operate or feel...
