15...

I've been tagged by Guillemette of Grey Lemon to share a list of 15 authors I would recommend...

I have read the repertoire of some Authors through ease and default, not love...As I buy most books secondhand the novels were available and so bought...But the Authors I share today will be those whose work has helped shape me. Some of these Authors have made me struggle and throw the novel to the floor. Others have snuggled next to me and held my hands. A few have made me think so hard my brain throbbed...

Timothy Findley {read all}
Margaret Atwood {read all}
Margaret Laurence {read many}
Amy Tan {read all}
Jane Austen
Charles Dickens {I have a few stacked, waiting...}
David Mitchell
Herman Hesse
Michael Ondaatje {read all}
JK Rowling {read all}
Dr. Seuss {read all}
C.S. Lewis {read many}
Leo Tolstoy {I will continue reading War and Peace this year...}
Ayn Rand {read many}
Poet~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Looks like a pretty safe list...I love Russian novels but have not read enough novels to include the Authors yet...I want the new translation of Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak for Christmas...I've asked for bookstore gift certificates when asked what I'd like...

Thank you Guillemette! This surprised me in it's difficulty. 15 books would be too easy...The Authors another story. ;)

What about you? Who are your 15?

I have read 9 out of your list..some of the works not all, must check the rest. I have to take time to make my own list so that will have to wait. So lovely to see that we share interest in some of the same...btw, you were the right person to be tagged for this purpose. I wish you a lovely weekend Andrea! xoxoxo

I love seeing 'must-read' compilations. I always find great suggestions.
Next up for me is also Tolstoy's War and Peace although I think I am going to sneak in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo first. I need a more decompressing type of read at this moment :)
