Weekend Wee Peek
I love spade bits! A place for all the wires...
A shallow shelf behind for loved treasures...Reclaimed pallet lumber...
I left the bark on because I loved it...
Biscuit anyone? It was so easy. I am proud! ;)
I had a busy weekend trying to get this house in order...I gutted my bedroom, recycled copious amounts of paper, added more to the donation pile, wallpapered {vintage 1970's kite and sky~love it} the alcove where my desk is going...And I started to make that desk! The one I was going to have finished by last October...Never hire me for renovations! Once I got started I actually enjoyed the cutting, drilling, biscuit-ing, sanding, oiling, countersinking, leveling...One thing I did not enjoy was the measuring. Essential to a good fit and a level desk. I measured 3x for each thing I did! It worked out well but an experienced carpenter would have done my three days work in three hours I am sure...
How was your weekend? What did you do?

Wow. Be proud of yourself. That self and wallpaper are lovely, and building a desk from scratch is no mean feat.
How useful are you! Lovely work and you should be so proud=)
I did much of the same...painting, organizing my daughters room, refinishing an old table (hopefully the last for awhile!), baking bread, cooking, laughing.

Who can say they made their own desk, amazing YOU!!!!! I love the wallpaper too. Who milled the lumber and left the bark on, gorgeous, the name of the marvelous Japanese woodworker (name escapes me) famous for this technique, now deceased would be proud of you too.
XO!
Great work. I have problems measuring, it never seems to be correct.
Must say, I love that wallpaper!!! Cheers.
Looking good! That wallpaper is sure to put a smile on your face every day and i love the bit of bark left on the shelf :)
I'm so glad you jumped right into some projects after having some setbacks last week. You did a beautiful job too!
Love the wall paper and the desk...love light wood! This sounds like heaps of fun and I too do not enjoy the measuring probably because any errors would result in uneven-ness! I was busy...with assorted things. It is black history month here and I was manning a booth most of Saturday, then fun devotional/potluck and helping neighbor with leaks!!!
