I'm not one to flaunt my political or religious beliefs but I have to say that I am very saddened today to hear that Jack Layton of the NDP has passed away from cancer...I feel he was the best leader of any party here in Canada in a very, very long time...

me too !!! I felt heartbroken by the news and feel for his family... he was only 61 and on h brink of some very big things. xo s + gang
His legacy will live on... he may have left us but his work continues, hopefully to be put into the hands of someone just like him.

I agree Andrea. He was one of the few politicians who walked his talk.
My favorite quote of his was when he was asked if he ever smoked marijauana and he replied "yes, and I inhaled...in fact most people would say that I never exhaled"! You gotta love a politician that can be that honest and open about himself.

Yes, he was an energetic and interesting politician. A great loss, but an enduring inspiration.
